Cutting possibilities with CIAK Professional and CIAK Power cutting tools.
Freely moved or fixed to the table? Which one is better?
Unfastened on the workbench
You can simply place the cutting ruler on the sheet to be cut on a completely flat surface.
advantages:
- Easily movable.
- Can be easily placed above the cutting site.
- Requires no accessories.
- Ideal for cutting glass, mirrors, plexiglass (cutting scratched).
- Flexible and rigid boards can also be cut this way.
disadvantages:
- The ruler must be clamped down by hand.
- A cutting pad must be placed under the sheet to be cut (except for scratching).
- Without fixation, the accuracy and strength of the cut will be less.
Unfastened at the edge of the workbench
You can press the cutting ruler to the table by hand without fixing it and use the blade to cut the material along the edge of the workbench.
advantage:
- You don't need a cutting pad.
disadvantages:
- Only rigid panels can be cut this way.
- It is difficult to adjust the unfixed ruler to the edge of the desk.
- The ruler may move during a multi-course cutting.

Fixed to the edge of the workbench
You can secure the cutting ruler to the edge of the workbench with side lifters.
advantages:
- Does not damage the desk.
- Maximum cutting accuracy and less effort required for cutting.
disadvantages:
- Only rigid boards can be cut this way.
- You have to hold the piece to be cut by hand.
- You need to add a pair of optional Side lifters.
You can create a fixed workbench by screwing the side lifters.
Using a quick clamp, you can switch between fixed or portable cutting options as you wish.
Mounted on a grooved workbench
You can attach the cutting machine to the workbench, the blade moves in the groove milled into the surface.
advantages:
- You can cut flexible sheets and rigid boards as well.
- No need for a cutting pad.
- Maximum cutting accuracy and less effort required.
disadvantages:
- You must mill a groove into the workbench.
- You need to add a pair of optional Side lifters.
CIAK on a worktop
Worktop is available for 160 cm and larger CIAK Professional and CIAK Power cutters.
advantages:
- original Gielle-made grooved work surface, with fixings.
